Claudia Doring Báez
(estadounidense, nacida en 1960 en Ciudad de México, vive y trabaja en Nueva York)
Las pinturas de Claudia Doring Baez están animadas por una reverencia a la historia del arte, plasmada en un vocabulario contemporáneo y expresionista. Báez entabla conversaciones con la obra de algunos de los grandes artistas de los siglos pasados: selecciona, recrea y adopta detalles de imágenes. Sus pinturas están impregnadas de referencias del arte y la literatura, que van desde el expresionismo alemán a Marcel Proust, Brassaï, las ricas representaciones de Tiziano a versiones abstraídas de la obra de Fra Angelico y Johannes Vermeer, junto con inspiraciones de artistas contemporáneos como Cindy Sherman.
